You will need to create an account in the Tuition Hub, and input your preferences and requirements. There would be a conversation scheduled with us, to understand your requirements for your new role.
We understand that you will have invested time, energy and effort into the training provided in the 2020 to 2021 academic year, and given that you may have completed this training recently we will not be making you complete it again.
All degree-holding Academic Mentors who are eligible for the salary increase, will see this reflected in pay checks from 1st April 2022.
The NTP team will make contact with your school to ensure they are aware of the salary increase and ensure you are remunerated if you are eligible for the increase. Academic Mentors with a Degree or QTS should receive a salary based on a Full Time Equivalent of £21,000 for working a full Academic Year 1st September to 31 August. The actual salary for each Academic Mentor should be prorated (if working part time) against a full-time teacher contract for a full Academic Year of £21,000. Schools can claim £18,050 to £19,950 (dependent on qualifications) in salary subsidy for each Academic Mentor.
For those that are remaining at the same school and with a DBS in the school name, we anticipate that you wont need to complete a new DBS, unless you have had a break in employment with the school for over three months. If you do require a new DBS please contact us and we can organise a new one.
Once you have created your account in the Tuition Hub, you will be able to update your details and preferences directly. You will also be able to liaise with the Academic Mentor team through the Tuition Hub.

Working as an Academic Mentor, you will provide additional, targeted support in either a primary or secondary school, to help pupils’ whose education has been most affected by the pandemic. You will provide small group (maximum 1:6) tuition to pupils within your allocated school focusing on one of the below subjects:
Primary – Numeracy, Literacy, Science.
Secondary – Maths, English, Science, Humanities or Modern Foreign Languages.
If successful in the recruitment process, we will find you an appropriate school. We will also enrol you on a bespoke online training programme created and delivered by Liverpool Hope University, prior to starting, as well as providing ongoing continuing professional development (CPD) whilst in the role.

Firstly, you will need to register your details with us and then upload your CV. Once this has been reviewed and if your skills/experience match what we are looking for, you will be invited to a live video interview. If successful at interview, we will look to place you in a school.

Academic Mentors must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of three A-levels at A*-C grade (or equivalent)
- Minimum of a grade 4 in English and Maths at GCSE level
We also require all applicants to have the right to work in the UK.
