Pearson combine extensive curriculum and subject knowledge with assessment expertise, and work with educators and learners across the world to help them achieve their goals. Our mission is to help people make progress in their lives through learning — because we believe learning opens up opportunities, creating fulfilling careers and better lives.
As an approved Tuition Partner, we are in a unique position to provide high quality tuition from qualified teachers, in-person and online, using standardised lesson materials and assessments.
How many pupils and schools can we work with?
25,650 pupils in approximately 900 schools.
Who are our tutors?
All our tutors are fully qualified teachers, most of whom have extensive experience of marking GCSE or SATs papers.
How do we recruit our tutors?
We check the teaching qualifications and references of all prospective tutors and require them to pass a video interview, which is assessed against key criteria. All tutors have Enhanced DBS, Barred Listing and TRA Prohibited List checks. They also agree to abide by Pearson’s safeguarding, data protection and whistle-blowing policies.
How do we train our tutors?
Tutors are trained on their roles and responsibilities including provision of feedback to schools; key pedagogical principles for effective tutoring; fostering student motivation and engagement; delivering tutoring online; safeguarding; HM Gov Prevent training; and data privacy training. They also have access to regular Q&A sessions and support from lead tutors.
How will we communicate with you?
You can contact us via live online chat or by calling our friendly team. Alternatively, you can submit an enquiry form on our website, and we’ll get in touch within 24 hours to arrange a time to discuss the service we can provide and answer any questions you may have.
How will we keep track of pupil progress?
Students complete a pre-test at the start of each tutoring block and a post-test at the end, with tutors being trained on how to reduce test anxiety. You will receive a report from the tutor after every session as well as a final summary report showing pupil progress and impact.
