Who are we?

Schools Partnership Tutors is an organisation established in collaboration with experienced educational organisations. These include Unity Schools Partnership (CEO Tim Coulson), teaching school alliances, regional hubs and schools. We aim to make the most effective use of tutoring for pupils who are disadvantaged by Covid-19 and other issues.

Every pupil is entitled to the same opportunities to access the resources and support they need to make the progress they are able to make. We work with Unity and Norwich Research schools, and Marc Rowland (Pupil Premium Adviser) to ensure that evidence informs our practice and that of our tutors.

How many pupils and schools can we work with?

20,000 pupils in approximately 500 schools.

Who are our tutors?

Our high-quality, evidence-informed tutors, many with QTS and/or experience working in schools, are specifically trained in the pedagogy of tutoring.

NOTE: This provider offers tutoring online and in-person in certain areas. Enquire below to find out whether in-person tuition is available in your area.

How do we recruit our tutors?

Whether tutors are recommended or verified by schools, or interviewed by us using Safer-recruitment’, all tutors undergo rigorous background checks, including DBS, Safeguarding training and Teacher Prohibition checks before being placed on our T‑Reach (tutor-school matching) system. Once registered, tutors upload their profile so they can be matched with schools.

How do we train our tutors?

Our extensive training programme blends live-online workshops with self-study units and incorporates core, school-specific and subject-specific modules. Bitesize, evidence-informed modules harness app technology, enabling anytime, anywhere access and maximising time for ongoing tutor training. The school-based training element ensures high-quality, responsive tutoring that is aligned to and complements class teaching.

How will we communicate with you?

Our bespoke T‑Reach’ school-tutor matching system facilitates initial contact and we have a dedicated team to manage queries, ensure quality assurance and liaise between tutors and schools to reduce the administrative burden on schools as much as possible. We know your time is better spent aligning classroom and tutoring practice.

How will we keep track of pupil progress?

Schools, regardless of chosen tuition partner, will submit pupil assessment data to NTP. SP Tutors will assist with this; T‑Reach collects session-by-session feedback from tutors, providing information for schools which can be used to feed back to parents and monitor quality. It ensures progress is sustained and prompts timely intervention.
